QC gov't to implement updated discounts for real property tax payments
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte announced on Friday, July 28, that the city government will implement updated discounts for payments of real property tax (RPT) next year.
“We are collecting more taxes to be able to give more to our QCitizens who are paying their obligation to the local government diligently and in a timely manner,” Belmonte said.
She made the announcement after she signed Ordinance No. SP-3179, S-2023 stating that those who will pay in full their basic real property tax and the additional tax accruing to the Special Education Fund (SEF) and barangay share for the following taxable year on or before December 31, 2023 will get a 20 percent discount.

Too, a 10 percent discount will be given to those who will fully settle their basic real property tax and the additional tax accruing to the SEF for the current year on or before March 31, 2024.
The mayor assured the QCitizens that their taxes will be properly utilized for various city programs, building of infrastructure, and delivery of social services.
She added that taxpayers may settle their obligations with convenience through 16 City Treasurer’s Satellite Offices and branches in various parts of Quezon City.
RPT is a levy/charge on real properties such as land, buildings, machineries and other improvements affixed or attached to real properties not specifically exempted under the law, the city government said.
The SEF arises from the additional one percent tax on real property and is allotted by the local government code to the local school boards for various education programs.
