Very humble, approachable, and open. That, according to House Speaker Martin Romualdez, was how President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. was viewed by Malaysian businessmen during the latter just-concluded state visit in the Southeast Asian nation. Romualdez was part of the official delegation of the trip, which focused on promoting the Philippines as an ideal destination for investments. “They find him so statesman-like, very open, and even the big businessmen here they find him very humble, approachable and very open,” Romualdez, leader of the Philippine House of Representatives, said. Malacañang has announced that Malaysian leaders have pledged a total of up to $285 million to expand their investment and operation in the Philippines. These investment pledges were in the areas of food processing industry, multi-service digital platforms, aviation, aviation maintenance support services, logistics, manufacturing, infrastructure, as well as water and wastewater treatment in the Philippines. Marcos' state visit to Malaysia took place from July 25 to 27.
