F2 Logistics setter Iris Tolenada joins MJ Phillips in Korean V-League

The announcement of Tolenada’s signing came as a surprise on Friday, July 28, when the club team revealed that she will be replacing Soraya Phomla of Thailand in the roster.  With the development, Tolenada is set to join fellow Asian quota import MJ Phillips in the overseas league.  Back in April, six Premier Volleyball League (PVL) players tested their luck after applying for a spot in the Korean league, with Phillips becoming the lone Filipina to be selected fifth overall by the Gwangju AI Peppers in the first-ever Asian quota draft.  After the initial snub, Tolenada will see action in the Korean leaguer after all.  The 5-foot-9 setter was listed in the Cargo Movers’ lineup for the ongoing Invitational Conference but hasn’t seen action for the team which just qualified for the battle for third match against the Cignal HD Spikers on the same day.  Tolenada is schedule to fly to South, Korea in August for her debut season in the league.
