The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Friday, July 28, that it has inaugurated its new office in Olongapo City, signaling a significant step towards enhancing immigration-related services in Zambales and nearby areas.
Strategically located on the 6th floor of SM City Olongapo Downtown, at the intersection of Magsaysay Drive and Gordon Avenue, the new office will function as a central hub, streamlining the delivery of immigration services in the region.
The inauguration ceremony was witnessed by Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr., SM management, and high-ranking BI officials.
BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the new office marks one of the many improvements the bureau are making to bring immigration services closer to the people.
Tansingco unveiled the agency's broader plan to relocate several operations to easily accessible locations like shopping malls, prioritizing the convenience of the public.
"In addition to this, we are actively working on opening new offices in popular tourist areas to provide faster and more accessible services to the public," he added.
