American nabbed in Bohol buy-bust

CEBU CITY — An American allegedly maintaining a drug den and two  persons were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran City, Bohol on Wednesday night, July 26. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) said Esrom Jenkins, 42, turned an apartment that he rented into a drug den.

(Photo from PDEA-7) Esom was arrested after he sold shabu to a poseur-buyer, said PDEA-7 spokesperson Leia Alcantara. Also arrested was Jude Benis Bantog, a 42-year-old fisherman from Barangay Ubujan, Tagbilaran who was in the PDEA-7’s list of suspected drug pushers, Alcantara said. April Valiente Ighot, 28, was nabbed after he was caught visiting the drug den. Confiscated from them were 15 packs of shabu with an estimated value of P102,000. Alcantara said Jenkins has been renting the apartment for the past seven months. The American has been living in Bohol for the past eight years but kept on transferring from one barangay to another, added Alcantara. Suspects  were detained at the Tagbilaran police station pending the filing of charges against them, Alcantara said.
