She was arrested after she transacted with a poseur-buyer from the Philippine Drug Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7), said Leia Alcantara, PDEA-7 information officer. Alcantara said the drug den was located about 20 meters from an elementary school. Also arrested were Johnny Gemoran, 34, and Gaby Sabtoranie, 52. Alcantara said the 57-year-old Balayon is known in the area as a laundry woman while the two drug den visitors were beggars. Balayon was monitored for two weeks after concerned citizens reported her illegal drug activities to the PDEA-7, said Alcantara. The suspect was capable of selling at least 50 grams of shabu a week, added Alcantara. Confiscated from Balayon were five packs of suspected shabu weighing around 10 grams with an estimated market value of P68,000. Cases for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12, Article II, of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs 2022 will be filed against suspects, Alcantara said.
