CAVITE – The local government units of General Trias City and Tanza, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and real-estate company Megaworld inaugurated the General Trias-Tanza Bypass Road on Tuesday, July 25.

Integrated within the 12-kilometer bypass road is Megaworld's six-lane, 30-meter-wide Maple Grove Boulevard.

The inauguration was led by Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla, General Trias City Mayor Luis "Jon Jon" Ferrer IV, Tanza Mayor Yuri Pacumio, Vice Gov. Athena Tolentino, and Megaworld parent company Alliance Global Group Inc. Chief Executive Officer Kevin L. Tan.

The bypass road starts at Maple Grove in General Trias, traverses Tejero and San Juan, and leads to the Malabon Grande Bridge in Tanza. The new thoroughfare is expected to ease traffic congestion, particularly on Antero Soriano Highway.

“These access roads will open up new possibilities, not only for the people of General Trias City and Tanza, but also for Maple Grove and all the exciting developments that we are bringing into this development,” Tan said in a statement.

Maple Grove is being positioned as Cavite’s first modern central business district, with the P15-billion development project featuring residential condominiums, an upscale residential village, office towers, a transport hub, and a lifestyle mall.
