Man arrested for killing brother in Mandaluyong

A man was arrested by operatives of the Mandaluyong City Police for stabbing his brother to death in Barangay New Zaniga, Mandaluyong City on July 23.
The suspect was identified as Romy De Luna Mariano. According to the police report, the daughter of the victim went inside the room of her father where she saw the suspect on top of the victim repeatedly stabbing him on different parts of his body. She tried to stop Mariano but he threatened to kill her as well. This prompted her to rush outside their home to ask for help from their neighbors. The police dispatched a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team to the area. The suspect initially prevented the operatives from entering the house but the police forced their way into the house where they found Mariano still stabbing the lifeless body of his brother. The SWAT team arrested the suspect, a former drug user, who was rehabilitated three times. Mariano is now facing charges of murder.
