Go vows to help Marcos admin resolve challenges to bring down inflation
Senator Christopher “Bong” Go on Thursday, July 27 vowed to help the Marcos administration bring down inflation.
In an interview in Parañaque City, Go echoed President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.'s sentiments on how the nation has been grappling with inflationary pressures, largely due to global factors beyond its control.

Go, however, said there is no cure-all approach to resolve inflation. “There are so many factors that are beyond our control. Such as the rise of oil prices in the world market because of the war in Ukraine,” Go pointed out. “We are dependent on imported oil that we use in different production of goods and services, that’s why the prices of goods are high,” he stressed. But Go noted there is a significant achievement in the country's fight against inflation as the rate was lowered from 8.7 percent in January to 5.4 percent in June. However, the senator acknowledged that the challenge to bring down inflation continues, especially for the disadvantaged in society. “Of course, we’re not yet done with helping out the administration to lower inflation because it really affects the poor,” Go said. During his second State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Marcos highlighted inflation as one of the country's most formidable challenges in the post-pandemic economic recovery phase. Go said he believes the government should focus on bringing down prices of basic goods and services for the sake of the marginalized. “The impact of inflation is felt more by the poor,” he stressed.
