Fire destroys 2 homes, damages 3 houses in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY – Two houses were destroyed and P1.6 million in properties were lost in a fire in Purok 1, Barangay Manta-angan, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental, on Monday, July 24. The E.B. Magalona Municipal Fire Station said three houses were damaged and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) reported that 18 individuals were affected by the fire. The fire reportedly originated from the house of Tessie Chan at 1:18 p.m. and reached second alarm. Fire out was declared by the Bureau of Fire Protection at 2:12 p.m. Cause of fire is yet to be determined and the local government has provided food and clothing assistance to affected residents. The MSWDO is facilitating the assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
