Shabu worth P8 M seized in Cebu City

CEBU CITY – Suspected shabu worth over P8 million was seized in anti-illegal drug operations here the past week. The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) reported that from July 14 to 20, 34 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted in which 1.2 kilos of shabu valued at P8.8 million were seized. Composed of 11 police stations, the CCPO, headed by Police Col. Ireneo Dalogdog, added that 34 drug suspects were arrested during the week-long operation. Five unlicensed firearms and five persons were arrested in the campaign against loose firearms. Forty-nine anti-illegal gambling operations were conducted, resulting in the arrest of 85 individuals and confiscation of P4,893 cash. The CCPO nabbed 19 wanted persons. “The relentless police operations and proactive crime prevention measures have reduced the crime rate based on the comparative crime statistics in the previous weeks,” the CCPO said in a statement.
