House Speaker Martin Romualdez can't help but feel moved by the reception President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. got from overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Malaysia. Marcos kicked off his three-day state visit to Malaysia on Tuesday night, July 25. Romualdez, leader of the 312-strong House of Representatives, was part of the President's delegation. Romualdez accompanied Marcos and other government officials in meeting with the OFWs and the rest of the Filipino community at the EQ Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. “Maraming salamat po sa mainit ninyong pagtanggap sa amin. Magsisilbi itong inspirasyon para mas lalo kaming magsumikap na tulungan ang ating Pangulo na maisakatuparan ang kanyang mga pangarap para sa isang Bagong Pilipinas,” said the House leader. (Thank you very much for your warm welcome. This will serve as an inspiration for us to further help the President in achieving his dreams for a New Philippines.) “We are one with the President’s aspirations to uplift the life of every Filipino so that parents no longer need to leave home and work abroad for their family’s survival but only as a matter of choice,” added the Leyte 1st district congressman. Romualdez vowed in front of the OFWs to approve the sought reforms of the President through legislation, and to allocate the funds needed for the mplementation of programs on job generation, lowering the cost of basic goods, and social services.
