Widely recognized as one of the most multi-talented actors of his generation, Ian Veneracion has encountered some enthusiastic fans in his career. Ian, like many other celebrities, emphasizes the importance of respecting others' boundaries.

During a press conference held at the Winford Manila Resort and Casino in Manila last July 24, Ian shared his perspective on the issue of fans intruding on his personal time.

"Ako naman very straightforward ako, I only wanna do what I want to do. If not, nobody can force me. So for me, kung tama yung panahon sure, for instance kumakain ako then someone asks me for a picture, pwede kong sabihin maybe later or when I'm done, I'll go to you something like that, pero I'm very straightforward when it comes to my boundaries," he said.

(I'm very straightforward. I only wanna do what I want to do. If not, nobody can force me. So for me, if the time is right, sure, for instance, I'm eating, then someone asks me for a picture, I can say maybe later, or when I'm done, I'll go to you something like that, but I'm very straightforward when it comes to my boundaries)

Ian also added that he is not "apologetic" when being strict with his boundaries.

"I'm not apologetic about it kasi we all have boundaries naman, and I think kung nagkakaintindihan naman yung both side clear na ako dun, " he added.

The actor further emphasized that barging into his dressing room is, without a doubt, one of his biggest pet peeves when working on a project.

"Ako sa taping, ayoko na papasok ka sa dressing room ko na kahit sino lang kasi syempre minsan dun ka nagbibihis, minsan nakabuhad ka or nagpapalit ka ng pantalon, so syempre may privacy akong minemaintain, so ayun yung mga certain things, na dapat common practice among people," Ian said.

Having been in the entertainment industry for nearly a decade, Ian confidently stated that he has never encountered any unpleasant incidents with his fans.

"For the longest time in my career, so far wala pa naman akong naencounter na hindi ko kayang iexpress or kausapin kasi lahat naman nadadaan sa usapan, yung nga if I say okay, sure but if say no, then no, and if you get mad or call me whatever, I don't care," Ian said.

(For the longest time in my career, so far I haven't encountered anything that I can't express or talk to because everything can de done when you talk about it. That's all. If I say okay, sure, but if I say no, then no. If it didn't matter or call me whatever, I don't care)

Performing in a live audience

Headlining his first concert at the Winford Hotel and Casino on Aug. 12, under the production of Vergel Sto. Domingo, Ian emphasized how important it is for him to perform live for his fans.

"Sa akin pinakaimportante is connecting with the live audience, kasi it's something that I enjoy, it's something different compared to doing movies and TV, kasi kapag live audience kita mo agad kung nagcoconnect kayo or hindi," he said.

(To me, the most important thing is connecting with the live audience, because it's something that I enjoy, it's something different compared to doing movies and TV, because when you're in a live audience, you can immediately see whether you're connecting or not)

Choosing his repertoire for the concert, Ian also said that the songs also resonated with his fans, which makes more fun for him to perform.

Vergel also shared that working for the first time with Ian at a concert was relatively easy for him.

"Actually this is my first time working with him, pero dati napapanood ko yung mga shows niya and nakita ko dun na there's something with Ian in the music industry, kaya hindi ako masyadong naging masusi sa pagdidirect sa kanya kasi he is a gifted artist," Director Vergel said.

(Actually this is my first time working with him, but I used to watch his shows and I saw that there's something with Ian in the music industry, so I wasn't very thorough in directing him because he is a gifted artist)
