The past year has seen the launch of many new electric vehicles for the private sector. However, for corporations looking to make their fleets more green, there have been few options. Diamond Auto Group hopes to change that with their new lineup of Dongfeng commercial electric vehicles. Under their new distributor, Diamond Auto Group EV Corporation, Dongfeng light commercial EVs are now on offer, providing sustainability-oriented enterprises a new way to move their goods.
The lineup is hoped to cater to a wide variety of commercial logistics needs. The options start with the Rich 6 EV pickup (P2,760,000) that produces 163-PS and 420-Nm of torque. It boasts of a range of 350-km on a full charge. Among its amenities are a fully digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment, and a dial-type drive selector. The next offering is the EC36 passenger van (P1,780,000) suitable as a shuttle for eight passengers. It’s electric motor produces 82-PS and 200-Nm of torque. On a full charge, it can travel 300-km. Its cargo variant is the EC35 (P1,750,000). It gets the same electric motor as the EC36 (82-PS and 200-Nm) and an estimated range of 300-km. Its rear cargo area has a capacity of 5.1 cubic meters.
A slightly large option is the EV30 Panel Van (P1,900,000). Its electric motor produces 94-PS and 230-Nm of torque. Its cargo area can hold 5.6 cubic meters. Allowing for easier loading are barn-style doors. Diamond Auto Group EVs also hope to match conventional ICE offerings with their light truck cab & chassis models. The EC31 (P1,680,000) is the smallest, with a payload rating of 1,300 kg. Its electric motor produces 82-PS with 200-Nm of torque. It has a range of 290-km on a full charge. The EV35 (P2,475,000) is rated for a payload capacity of 1,800 kg with an electric motor rated for 136-PS and 230-Nm of torque. Its range is 280-km on a full charge. The largest is the EV45 (P3,350,000) with a payload capacity of 2,200 kg. Its electric motor produces 163-PS and 320-Nm of torque. It also has a range of 350-km. Recharging these commercial EVs can be done via a portable AC or DC charging system. The AC system is capable of delivering 3.3 kW and can be plugged into a 220V outlet. Meanwhile, the DC system is rated at 6.6 kW and can also be plugged into a 220V outlet. Diamond Auto Group EV Corporation will also support the vehicles with ample spare parts availability and technical support provided by mechanics trained by Dongfeng to work on EVs. These Dongfeng Commercial EVs will soon be on display in Diamond Auto Group EV’s flagship showroom in San Isidro, Cainta, Rizal along Marcos Highway this coming September 2023.
