CAAP: Some airports in Luzon halt operations due to 'Egay'
Several airports in Luzon have halted their operations due to the effects of typhoon "Egay", the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said on Wednesday, July 26.
In a statement, the CAAP said the operation of the Laoag International Airport was halted due to bad weather condition while the Vigan Airport suffered minimal damage due to heavy raind and strong winds.
Lingayen Airport's ramp, on the other hand, is flooded due to heavy rainfall while bad weather condition was reported near the area of the Tuguegarao Airport.
The operations of the Baguio Airport, Rosales Airport, and San Fernando Tower Facility, Basco Airport, Cauayan Airport, and Palanan Airport, Iba Airport were also halted due to bad weather condition.
Meanwhile, around 155 passengers were affected after the San Jose-Manila-San Jose was cancelled.
The CAAP reminded passengers to prioritize their safety and cooperate with airport and airline authorities during this weather disturbance.
"Travelers are advised to contact their respective airlines for any changes to their flight schedules, alternative arrangements, or further information," the statement read.
"CAAP Area Center personnel and airport managers are closely monitoring the situation and are advised to provide timely updates as necessary," it added.
