Antipolo LGU calls for removal of billboards amidst the effect of Typhoon Egay

As road clearing operations were being done to get the fallen trees off the road, billboards that are installed on high structures in Antipolo City are being required to be taken down by the Antipolo City government amidst the threat of strong winds brought about by Typhoon Egay in the city.

The office of Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro “Junjun” Ynares III, in an advisory posted on the official social media pages of the city government, announced that the city’s building official has recommended for the temporary removal of advertising materials, including electronic and conventional billboards, while Typhoon Signal No. 1 or other significant weather disturbance remained hoisted in the city.

Billboard owners are encouraged to coordinate with the Office of the Building Official at telephone number, 8689-4554 should they have concerns regarding the advisory.

On Wednesday morning, July 26, a road clearing team from the city engineering office had removed a fallen tree on Sumulong Highway in Barangay Sta. Cruz and a huge mango tree at Sitio Buhanginan in Barangay San Jose on July 25.

No one was injured in the two incidents but the uprooted trees caused obstruction on the affected roads resulting in the temporary vehicular traffic jam in the two areas.
