CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 arrested 123 wanted persons in the Caraga or Northeastern Mindanao region during the conduct of the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) from July 19 to 23.
The PRO-13 Regional Operations Division (ROD) said the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) apprehended 19 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) and 26 other wanted persons, followed by the Butuan City Police Office with four MWPs and 29 other wanted persons, Surigao del Norte PPO, three MWPs and 12 other wanted persons, Agusan del Norte PPO, four MWPs and eight other wanted persons, Agusan del Sur PPO, five MWPs and six other wanted persons, Regional Mobile Force Battalion-13, three MWPs and one other wanted person, Regional Intelligence Division (RID), two MWPs, and Regional Intelligence Unit-13, one MWP.
Among those arrested was the most wanted New People’s Army rebel in the priority target on the regional level.
Suspect was arrested in Barangay Camagong, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said.
A CTG-SPARU team leader and political instructor was also arrested by joint forces of the RID-13 and Buenavista Municipal Police Station (MPS), on Saturday, July 22, in Barangay 4, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte for violation of Republic Act 9851 (Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide, and other crimes against Humanity), RA 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012), and multiple attempted murder, Ometer said.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft ordered all field units to step up their SACLEO drive and arrest all wanted persons in their respective areas of responsibility (AORs).
“We are committed to collar all wanted persons and bring them behind bars,” he said.
“Rest assured that our police operations are anchored on the chief PNP's program thrust emphasizing aggressive and honest law enforcement operations.”
