Sea trips from Bacolod to Iloilo, vice-versa suspended due to 'Egay'
BACOLOD CITY – Trips of fast craft vessels from here to Iloilo and vice-versa were suspended on Tuesday, July 25, due to super typhoon “Egay.”
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) cancelled trips due to big waves and rough seas.
Regular trips will resume as soon as weather is back to normal, according to the advisory of the two fast craft operators.
The PCG reported that 165 passengers and 43 rolling cargoes going to Tabuelan, Cebu were stranded at Barcelona Port in Escalante City, Negros Occidental.
Meanwhile, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez suspended work in government offices and classes on all levels here on Tuesday, July 25.
The provincial government of Negros Occidental and the city governments of Talisay and Silay and municipal government of E.B. Magalona also suspended work in government offices and classes.
