P598,400 shabu seized in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – A man who was in jail for almost nine years for a drug offense was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok Kabulakan II, Barangay Singcang-Airport, here, on Monday, July 24. Police Major Joery Puerto, head of Police Station 5, identified the suspect as Begie Soreño, 50, of Barangay Singcang-Airport. Confiscated from him were 88 grams of suspected shabu worth P598,400 and the P2,000 marked money. Puerto said that Soreño was released from jail in 2021 after he had served his sentence. However, Puerto said based on their monitoring, the suspect returned to the illegal drugs trade, Puerto, who was previously assigned as head of Police Station 8, said the suspect was included in the drugs watchlist of the Police Station 8, and was a high-value individual.
