6 robbers posing as NBI agents take away P1.8-M vape products from Manila store
Five men and a woman posing as agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) took away a total of P1,844,730 worth of vape or e-cigarette products from a vape shop on Tejeron Street in Sta. Ana, Manila, on Tuesday, July 24.
The Manila Police District (MPD) said the six suspects remain unidentified.
According to the store attendant, Mark Bueno, he was manning the store at 11 a.m. when the suspects entered the store and identified themselves as agents of the NBI.
Bueno said one of the suspects drew his gun from his shoulder bag and said he will confiscate the vape products in the store.
The five other suspects immediately took the vape products and loaded them into their get-away vehicle parked outside the store.
Police said the suspects also forced Bueno to ride the car after getting the products.
They fled towards Pedro Gil Street in Sta. Ana, Manila.
Bueno said the suspects ordered him to alight from the car when they reached Balintawak in Quezon City.
The owner of the vape store, Andrea Velasquez, said the suspects managed to steal 2,300 pieces of vape worth P1,573,650, vape juice worth P250,000, and P21,080 cash from the cashier.
Operatives of MPD are conducting follow-up operations for possible identification and apprehension of the suspects.
