Muntinlupa City now only has one active Covid-19 case following the decision of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to lift the State of Public Health Emergency in the country.
President Marcos issued Proclamation No. 297 on July 21, declaring that “all prior orders, memoranda, and issuances that are effective only during the State of Public Health Emergency shall be deemed withdrawn, revoked or canceled and shall no longer be in effect.”

“All EUA (emergency use authorization) issued by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) pursuant to Executive Order (EO) No. 121 (s. 2020) shall remain valid for a period of one year from the date of lifting of the State of Public of Public Health Emergency for the sole purposes of exhausting the remaining vaccines,” according to the proclamation. Latest data from the City Health Office (CHO) showed that from July 18 to 24, Muntinlupa has recorded only one active Covid-19 case, down from three cases listed from July 11 to 17, and 10 from July 4 to 10. The active Covid-19 case is listed in Country Homes Subdivision, Barangay Putatan while the other eight barangays in Muntinlupa are now Covid-19 free. From July 18 to 24, Muntinlupa tallied four new Covid-19 cases from 47,285 confirmed cases to 47,289; six recoveries from 46,618 last week to 46,624; and zero deaths. Meanwhile, the Muntinlupa City government has started administering the Pfizer Bivalent Vaccine, considered as the third booster shot, to senior citizens and overseas Filipino workers last July 22 after healthcare workers in hospitals.
