Malabon, Valenzuela LGUs suspend classes due to ST 'Egay'
The Malabon and Valenzuela City local governments have suspended classes from kindergarten to senior high school in public and private schools on Tuesday, July 25, to ensure the safety of students due to the rains caused by super typhoon “Egay.”
The local government said the class suspensions follow the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Order No. 37 s. 2022 that issues the guidelines for the suspension of classes and works in cities during inclement weather, natural disasters, power interruptions, or other calamities.

Metro Manila cities and neighboring provinces were placed under typhoon cyclone signal number 1 due to rains caused by super typhoon “Egay.” The center of the eye of the typhoon was at 230 kilometer east of Tuguegarao City as of 1 p.m., according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration. In Valenzuela City, the local government automatically implemented class suspensions from pre-school to senior high school levels in both private and public schools due to the super typhoon. The city governments of Malabon and Navotas reminded their residents to keep safe and coordinate with them in case of emergencies.
