Filipino boy band HORI7ON debuts in South Korea; members talk about journey


Filipino boy band HORI7ON officially debuted in South Korea, releasing their first album “Friend-Ship” on July 24. 

The members of HORI7ON are Vinci, Kim, Kyler, Reyster, Winston, Jeromy and Marcus, who were chosen through the Philippines-Korea collaborative survival audition program “Dream Maker.”

They made their debut under MLD Entertainment, the agency which manages K-pop girl group Lapillus. 

During their media showcase in Seoul for “Friend-Ship” on July 24, leader Vinci said, "It's definitely an unreal feeling that we're finally debuting. We've prepared so much and we want to show that we have much to offer," the Korea Herald reported. 

About their debut album, he added, "It contains many charms, group songs and solo songs. It also features a strong lineup of collaborations with our 'seonbaenim,' and we're proud to show that we've also collaborated for (the making of) our song, 'Mama.'" 

The music video for their song “SIX7EEN” has garnered 1.5 million views in 17 hours on YouTube. 

HORI7ON took to Twitter to express their happiness about finally debuting. 

“I never imagined in my wildest dreams that i'd be able to put my talent in big stages for people to see. i am so grateful that HORI7ON is officially out to the world. from this day on, together let's sail into the unknown with our anchors to hold us down when we're lost,” said Vinci. 

Reyster said, “Up until now, I still can't believe that we did it! I am so grateful for all the support and love that we're receiving from all of you, Anchors We made this special day possible. To the long journey that awaits us, we know that ANCHORS will always be with us. Again, thank you so much. HORI7ON HOORAYYY for this day!!”

“I almost felt like tearing up while we were performing but I held them back because I wanted to be strong for the Anchors. I’m so happy that we’ve finally debuted. Soon, we’ll be traveling around the world and burn up the stage,” said Kim. 

According to Jeromy, “I was so happy and felt so fulfilled today because finally we were able to showcase our songs to everyone. I hope that you guys will love our Friend-SHIP album!”

“‘Till this day, I cannot believe any of this is real. Ever since the start of my journey, all the way to now, I’ve been so blessed and gifted to be given such supportive people by my side. That includes my members, our staff, the production teams, the entire company, the ANCHORS, my family, literally anyone that were with us during all of this. None of this is possible without them, so from the deepest bottom of my heart, I’m so grateful to have you all with me, and I will never let you down. HORI7ON, THIS IS JUST THE START, AND WE ONLY KEEP MOVING FORWARD! FIGHTING!!!!!!!” said Marcus. 

Winston stated, “I still can’t believe that we have debuted here in South Korea. When I stepped on the stage earlier, all the memories that we been through with you the ANCHORS —  from dream maker, mall show, fan meet and etc. All of these flashed through my mind that I felt like crying. But my heart was more full of happiness and gratitude. We made the miracle happen and the hundred days has come to an end but our journey as a global pop group is now beginning. So, we may hold onto each other until we succeed and until we reach the sky. Thank You Anchors!”

“I'm happy today because we were able to debut successfully. I thank the anchors who came and cheered for us during the performance. I’m also thankful to those who joined us even from faraway. Our journey does not end here, we have many more performances to give you,” said Kyler.
