TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Cagayan Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) said there is enough food and non-food items in warehouses of the provincial government for residents affected by super typhoon “Egay.”
Bonifacio Cuarteros, Social Welfare Officer IV and chief, Center Management, PSWDO, said the provincial government has prepared 4,120 packs of five-kilo rice, 4,000 cavans of rice, 588 boxes of meat loaf, corned beef, sausage, and sardines, and 90 family food packs.
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. donated 450 boxes of canned goods, coffee, and rice, and 1,350 packs containing mosquito nets, blankets, slippers, adult diapers, sanitary napkins, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and soap.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has conducted pre-emptive evacuation of residents in low-lying and landslide-prone areas in Baggao, this province.
More than 200 individuals from Barangays Agaman Sur, Alba, and Bagunot as rains caused by Egay lashed this province on Tuesday afternoon.
