Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos declined to comment on the many accomplishments laid out by his father, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., in his State of the Nation Address (SONA). The reason? Doing so would be "self-serving", according to the presidential son. "Sinabi ko po sa mga iba’t ibang tao, alangan naman anak ako ng Pangulo, so it will be self-serving (I've told different people that, I'm the son of the President, so it will be self-serving)," Rep. Marcos told reporters Monday night, July 24 shortly after the Chief Executive delivered his second State of the Nation Address (SONA). Instead, the senior deputy majority leader left it to the other members of Congress to react on what they heard in the SONA. "But I think other legislators, other lawmakers will better suited to answer those questions," Rep. Marcos said. President Marcos delivered the SONA before joint session of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
