Search and rescue personnel of the Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO), along with their police dogs, were deployed to the vicinity of the Batasan Complex in Quezon City as part of the security force tasked to maintain peace and order before, during and after the second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. today, July 24.
Personnel of Rizal Explosives and Ordnance Division/K9 Unit under Capt. Jeyama P. Cariazo as its team leader secured areas leading to the Batasan Complex.
The office of Rizal PPO director Col. Dominic Baccay said more than 100 crowd dispersal management (CDM) personnel were deployed in Metro Manila for Pres. Marcos Jr’s SONA.
Other K9 units led by Police Major Danny Yasay of Regional Explosive Canine Unit (RECU-4) and RECU NCR K9, which are all under the supervision of the Philippine National Police EOD/K9 Group, were dispatched prior to the SONA.
Among those who manned the checkpoints in Metro Manila for SONA were the graduates of the Search and Rescue Dogs (SARD) Orientation of Region 4-A who were recognized and congratulated by PNP EOD/K9 director Brig. Gen. Albert Magno during a recent ceremony in Batangas.
