Muntinlupa LGU vehicles ready to help stranded passengers during transport strike
The Muntinlupa City government said its vehicles are on standby to provide free rides to stranded commuters during the transport strike from July 24 to 26.
According to Danidon Nolasco, head of the Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau (MTMB), “On standby po mga gov’t vehicle if needed and affected ang Muntinlupa we will deploy those vehicles to augment the need for public transportation.”

Transport groups led by Manibela launched the strike “to express their grievances regarding the LTFRB's [Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board] phaseout of traditional Jeepneys and UV Express,” according to its advisory on July 23.
It said there will be a transport strike assembly and program, and caravan at the University of the Philippines on July 24, and “various strike centers within NCR.”
Malacanang suspended government work and classes in public schools at all levels in Metro Manila on July 24 due to the transport strike and typhoon “Egay.”
Mayor Ruffy Biazon said that in line with the order, classes in all public schools and work in offices in the city government are suspended for July 24.
“Mananatili pa ring operational ang departments at offices involved in the delivery of basic health and emergency services; preparedness/response to disasters and calamities; peace and order, including law enforcement, fire protection and control, traffic management; and the performance of other vital services,” he said.
The suspension of classes in private schools and work in private companies are “at the discretion of their respective heads.”
