The Manila Police District (MPD) distributed 230 food kits on Monday, July 24, in Tondo, Manila. MPD chief Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon led the outreach program at Katuparan Village, Barangay 101, Tondo. He said the activity strives to address the basic needs of less fortunate families. It was in line with the theme of the 28th Police Relations Community Month Celebration, which is "Serbisyong Nagkakaisa para sa Ligtas at Maunlad na Pamayanan" (United Service for a Safe and Progressive Community). Each kit contained instant noodles, rice, can goods, coffee packs, and slippers. The food kits were put in red plastic pales, which police said could be used as food containers. The Manila City Library (MCL) also arranged a puppet show to entertain the children during the distribution. A raffle draw was also organized where residents won assorted kitchenware and appliances. The celebration of PCR Month aims to recognize the Philippine National Police's community engagement and participation in crime prevention and public safety.
