K-pop boy band Monsta X's Joohoney cuts hair for his military enlistment today

K-pop boy band Monsta X member Joohoney is sporting short hair in preparation for his military enlistment.  Joohoney will enlist as an active duty soldier today, July 24, the third member of Monsta X to fulfill the mandatory service after Shownu and Minhyuk.  Monsta X's Joohoney sporting short hair for his military enlistment slated today, July 24 (Instagram)


Shownu enlisted in July 2021 and was discharged in April. Minhyuk enlisted last April as an active duty soldier and is expected to be discharged on Oct. 3, 2024.  On July 23, Joohoney uploaded photos on Instagram showing him with short hair. He is with fellow member Hyungwon in two photos.  Joohoney will serve for 18 months in the military and is expected to be charged on Jan. 23, 2025.  Last July 11, Joohoney posted a letter on Monsta X’s fan cafe to announce his military service.  “The time I spend with our members and Monbebes is so precious and happy to me, so I'm finally telling this story today because I want to fully spend this time with you guys,” he said.  He added, “Monbebe, I will enlist in the military on July 24. To be honest, I thought a lot about when would be a good time to talk. There is not much time left than I thought, so I am very worried about how Monbebes will feel even as I write this.”  “I feel sorry for the remaining time, and I am still worried about Monbebe who will be upset with the short time left, but since I have seen Monbebes being happy one by one, I think I will write the same way today even if I turn back time,” he said.  According to him, “Military service is also something I have to do. I'll be strong and go well! I won't be leaving forever, so don't worry, look at the sky every day, think over the words I said, and promise to think of Joohoney once a day! Got it? I love you all day, I love you always, so in love with yourself.”
