'Honored' author Sandro has high hopes for Maharlika fund

Presidential son, Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos has expressed high hopes for the newly-enacted Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF) law in terms of benefitting the country. 'I have no doubt that this will be a key tool for nation building in the years to come, with the best of the best running the fund 🇵ðŸ‡," Rep. Marcos wrote in a Facebook post over the weekend. Embodied in Republic Act (RA) No.11954, the MIF will serve as the country’s first-ever sovereign wealth fund. "As one of the principal authors of this bill it truly is an honor to see the Maharlika Investment Fund signed into law," Rep. Marcos, the senior deputy majority leader, said in the same post. The MIF measure was first filed in the House of Representatives as House Bill (HB) No.6398. Joining the Ilocos congressman as authors were House Speaker and Leyte 1st district Rep. Martin Romualdez, Majority Leader and Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Mannix Dalipe, Committee on Accounts Chairperson and Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez, Deputy Majority Leader and Tingog Party-list Rep. Jude Acidre, and Committee on Appropriations Senior Vice Chairperson and Marikina City 2nd district Rep. Stella Quimbo. President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. signed the MIF into law last July 18 in Malacañang. Rep. Marcos was present at the event.
