Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos gave a last-minute teaser of his father's State of the Nation Address (SONA) to House of Representatives reporters at past noon Monday, July 24. "It's no different than the first year, he wrote the speech, and then asked for people to look it over," Rep. Marcos said when asked about what President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. would talk about in his annual speech. "It's always nice to have a fresh set of eyes after writing it and writing it again," the younger Marcos and senior deputy majority leader said. "It will essentially be, like he said, a report to the people of what has been done in the last year and what problems we continue to face and what needs to be done," Rep. Marcos said. As to the length of President Marcos' SONA this year, the neophyte congressman said: "I think to begin with medyo mahaba (it was a little lengthy), but he was able to shave it down a little bit." President Marcos is roughly three hours away from delivering his SONA at Batasan Complex as of this posting. Batasan is the home turf of the House of Representatives.
