Commercial billboards in Muntinlupa were taken down on July 24 due to typhoon “Egay.”
The Office of the City Building Official ordered all commercial billboards in Muntinlupa to be rolled down after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) placed Metro Manila under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.

“Based on PAGASA's Tropical Cyclone Bulletin no. 13, issued at 11:00 am, 24 July 2023, a tropical typhoon EGAY (DOKSURI) further intensifies while moving westward over the Philippine Sea,” according to the advisory issued by City Building Official Dynadelle Aranda.
It added, “The center of the eye of Typhoon Egay was estimated based on all available data at 525 km East of Baler, Aurora (15.4°N, 126.5*E). TROPICAL CYCLONE WIND SIGNAL No.1 (TCWS) has been raised in Metro Manila based on same bulletin issued at 11:00am today with wind treat: Strong winds and a warming lead time of 36 hours with minimal to minor threat to life and property.”
“Accordingly, all advertising materials/commercial billboards must be automatically taken down by the billboard operators after the release of a Typhoon Signal No.1 bulletin any other significant weather disturbance by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA),” it added.
Classes in all public schools and work in government offices in Metro Manila including Muntinlupa were suspended by Malacanang due to typhoon “Egay” and the three-day transport strike.
