Senator Bong Revilla Jr. gave a grade of "9.5 out of 10" to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. even before he heard a single word from the latter's State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday afternoon, July 24. Revilla, who was in the House of Representatives to attend the SONA, used as basis for his lofty grade the Chief Executive's first year in office. "If I'm going to grade the Pangulo sa kanyang isang taon na panunungkulan (If I'm going to grade the President for his first year in office), I would grade him 9 from 1 to 10," the senator said in a chance interview just minutes before Marcos delivered his much-anticipated speech. "Nine, 9.5 because sa dami ng problema, kakatapos lang ng ating pandemya, at least maganda yung take-off ng ating ekonomiya (I give him a 9, 9.5 because of all the problems we have, the pandemic just ended, at least the economy had a good take-off)," Revilla explained. "Kaya siguro mas maganda na suportahan natin siya, tulong-tulong tayo para sa mas mabilis na pag-unlad ng ating bansa (That's why it's better to support him, let's help each other to hasten our country’s progress)," he added.
