Taguig LGU to provide free rides during 3-day transport strike

The Taguig City government announced on July 23 that it will provide free rides to the public due to the looming three-day transport strike from July 24 to 26.  Malacanang suspended government work and classes in public schools at all levels in Metro Manila on July 24 due to the transport strike and typhoon “Egay.”  Transport groups led by Manibela oppose the PUV phaseout (Photo from Manibela's Facebook page)

Transport groups led by Manibela will hold the strike  to oppose the government’s plan to phase out jeepneys.  According to the Taguig City government, it will provide vehicles for the “libreng sakay” along the Sta. Ana Plaza-San Joaquin route.  It said that based on information, the Sta. Ana Plaza-San Joaquin route will be the only one that will be affected by the transport strike.  These are the routes of the city government’ free ride to the public: District 1 1\. Bagumbayan\- \(Dulo\) 2\. Lower Bicutan\- \(Beside the Church\) 3\. Cayetano Blvd\. \- \(Global Gas Station\) 4\. Sta\. Ana Plaza\- \(Plaza\) 5\. Napindan\- \(Police Station\) District 2 1\. DOST\- \(Kanto\) 2\. Tenement\- \(Caltext Station\) 3\. Waterfun\- \(JODA Terminal\) 4\. Diego Silang\- \(Petron\) 5\. Gate 3\- \(Terminal\) 6\. Arca South\- \(Common Terminal\)
