Security guard shot dead in Batangas resort

NASUGBU, Batangas â€“ A 35-year-old security guard was shot dead in a resort in Sitio Hulo, Barangay Calayo, this town, on Saturday, July 22. Police identified the victim identified as Carlo Lara. Investigation said the victim was resting when the suspect, Mervin Bautista, a resident of Barangay Looc, here, arrived and suddenly shot Lara. Lara died on the spot and the suspect fled with the gun. Police recovered five fired caliber .45 cartridge cases in the crime scene. A manhunt is underway against the suspect.
