CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office-3 is deploying 300 police personnel for civil disturbance management operations in the second State-of-the-Nation Address of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday, July 24.
PRO-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. said these personnel from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion and Bataan, Pampanga, and Angeles City Police Offices are on stand-by starting Sunday, July 23.
A reactionary standby support composed of about 300 police personnel from the regional headquarters and other provincial police offices have also been organized and ready to be deployed.
Hidalgo said intensified anti-criminality and focused police operations are being undertaken by all police units within the region to prevent any eventualities during the annual event.
A gun ban is in effect in Central Luzon from 12:01 a.m. on July 24 until 12 a.m. on July 25. Police are on red alert from 5 p.m. July 23 to 12 noon on July 25.
Hidalgo said they have been sending augmentation troops toSONA and other national events to guarantee that no eventualities will happen during these activities.
“Our personnel are reminded to observe ‘maximum tolerance’ and ensure they respect the human rights of protesters as they are again expected to hold rallies when the President delivers his second SONA. I have also ordered the intensified conduct of checkpoint operations particularly along major thoroughfares to ensure the maintenance of peace and order during the event and guarantee the strict implementation of the 24-hour gun ban,” Hidalgo added.
