ILOILO CITY – Police seized suspected shabu worth more than P1 million from two drug pushers in a buy-bust operation here over the weekend.
Suspects were identified as Jonald “Onat” Eguales, 33, and Jenny Joy “Inday” Padesterio, 19.
The Iloilo City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-CDEU) and the ICPO-La Paz Police Station apprehended the suspects after Padesterio sold sachets of shabu to an undercover police officer.
Recovered from the suspects were 20 sachets of shabu weighing 157 grams and valued at more than P1 million.
The Police Regional Office-6 lauded the ICPO for arresting the suspects.
“The seizure of 157 grams of shabu has an impact in the supply chain of illegal drugs. This can save hundreds of individuals: Those using illegal drugs, their families and friends, and even the entire community,” said PRO-6 chief Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor.
Eguales and Padesterio are facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
