Mechanic shot dead in Quezon

SARIAYA, Quezon – A 33-year-old mechanic was gunned down in Immaculate Conception Village, Barangay Conception I, this town, on Sunday night, July 23.

Municipal police chief Major Romar Pacis identified the victim as Mark Joseph Marco.

Pacis said Marco and fellow mechanic, Bryan Jay Layug, 37, were repairing a car when two men on board a motorcycle arrived.

The back rider drew a gun and shot Marco several times, killing him on the spot.

Layug was wounded and taken to a hospital.

Pacis said the gunman was wearing a black hoodie jacket and the driver a white jacket.

The suspects fled to an unknown direction and police recovered six fired cartridge cases and two slugs of still unknown caliber at the crime scene.

Police recovered Marco’s bag and found a sachet of suspected shabu, three aluminum foil strips, and a glass pipe.

Pacis said Marco has a warrant of arrest in Candelaria, Quezon for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or Republic Act 9165.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
