Operatives of the Mandaluyong City Police Station (CPS)'s Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and Sub-Station 4 seized more than P300,000 worth of kush and marijuana from a male suspect in a buy-bust operation last July 19.
The suspect, identified by Mandaluyong CPS as "Marco," was arrested at around 6 p.m. during the operation that was conducted in his home in the city.
The police poseur buyer and informant were able to buy a sachet of suspected high-grade kush marijuana fruiting tops in exchange for P5,000.
Investigation indicated that Marco, upon suspicion that he was making a deal with a police officer, ran to his room, where he was cornered by the police.
Confiscated from the suspect were sachets containing around 160 grams of suspected high-grade kush marijuana fruiting tops worth a total of P224,000; 23 vials of suspected marijuana kush oil worth P161,000; and one kilogram of regular marijuana fruiting tops worth P12,000.
Paraphernalia for growing marijuana plants were also recovered by police including two grams of marijuana plant seeds worth P240; two plastic pots with soil and marijuana sprouts; a weed grow box, a LED grow light, digital temperature, and humidity meter.
The suspect was detained at the Mandaluyong CPS custodial facility, facing charges for sale and possession of illegal drugs.
