Pacquiao returns to ring, faces muay thai legend in exhibition match

Former eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao steps into the ring once more as he is set to face muay thai legend Buakaw Banchamek in Thailand next year.

Pacquiao, 44, announced the fight, billed as "Match of Legend", on Friday, July 21, along with the 41-year-old Thai superstar who is prominently known for his terrific record that stretches to 240 wins and highlighted by 73 knockouts. The exhibition is set on boxing rules featuring six three-minute rounds which will come as an advantage for the Filipino great. Pacquiao boasts an equally impressive record of 62 wins and 39 KOs. In his last professional fight, Pacquiao was defeated by Cuban Yordenis Ugàs via unanimous decision in their 12-round showdown in August 2021. The Sarangani pride, however, recently fought and won over DK Yoo of South Korea for an exhibition match last December.
