Magnitude 4.8 quake hits Davao Oriental

A 4.8-magnitude earthquake hit Davao Oriental on Saturday, July 22, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs said the quake was recorded 45 kilometers (km) southeast of Tarragona, Davao Oriental, at 3:24 a.m. In the bulletin released by Phivolcs, the tectonic-origin quake has a depth of focus of 18 km. Meanwhile, it also said that there are no damage and aftershocks to expect due to this tremor.Â
