Ateneo's Forthsky Padrigao fails academic requirements, to miss UAAP Season 86
Forthsky Padrigao won’t be on the floor when Ateneo defends its title in the UAAP Season 86 following academic deficiencies, the school announced on Saturday, July 22.
The 6-foot guard was confirmed to be ineligible for the upcoming season after failing to meet academic requirements set by the school.
“Forthsky was unable to meet Ateneo de Manila University’s academic requirements in SY 2022-2023, and therefore, he is not eligible to play in the upcoming UAAP Season 86,” the statement said.
The 21-year-old Mythical Five member emerged as one of the Blue Eagles’ reliable players in their previous season and helped the reigning champion in their title campaign.
With the time off the court, Padrigao is expected to “focus on his academics and fulfill his responsibilities as an Ateneo student.”
Padrigao was previously reported to be excluded from Ateneo’s lineup for AsiaBasket.
