Actress-singer Sunshine Cruz shared that there was no room for resentment in her life because she feels blessed and content with what she has now in the interview with Karen Davila on July 13. Sunshine said that she has long since forgiven ex-husband Cesar Montano and is actually on good terms with him. “Bakit kailangan maging bitter? Bakit kailangan magkaroon ng galit sa puso? Ito yung buhay ko ngayon oh, okay ako,” she said. (Why is it necessary to be bitter? Why should there be anger in the heart? This is my life now, I’m doing well.) The 45-year-old actress and singer never thought that one day, she would just wake up and realize that she does not feel any anger towards Cesar. According to Sunshine, their kids - Angeline, Sam, and Chesca - were never involved with the marital problems between her and Cesar.

Sunshine recalled how excited the children would get whenever they told her how they spent time with their father. “Nakikita ko kung gaano kasaya ang mga anak ko kasama ang tatay nila,” she said. (I can see how happy my children are when they’re with their father.) She never deprived the children of their father and never taught them to be mad at him because it was ‘unfair.’ The children also said that the weight has been lifted off their shoulders knowing that their parents have become civil with each other. “It was nice to know that we can have a proper meal together, we can talk… It makes my heart happy,” Angeline, the eldest, said.
