Silang LGU undergoes DSWD's service delivery assessment
The Silang, Cavite municipal government was assessed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 4-A on Thursday, July 20, as part of its Service Delivery Capacity Assessment (SDCA) that ensures the town's Local Social Welfare and Development Office is up to par with the national government's standards in the distribution of public services.
The SDCA being done by the DSWD measures the capabilities of Silang's Local Social Welfare and Development Office in performing and implementing its social welfare programs and services. Its main goal is to prove that the agency has enough capacity to perform its duties and responsibilities in providing good and effective health, education, livelihood, and other assistance to its citizens)," Anarna said. In this meeting, rest assured that the municipal government will wholeheartedly participate and coordinate with the national agencies to ensure that all our steps towards the welfare of our residents, especially those who are in need of help and support, become a reality)," he added. The SDCA is conducted by the DSWD on Local Social Welfare and Development Office and Officers every three years to assess their capacity and competency needs. The results of the assessment will be used as basis in planning for responsive Technical Assistance and Resource Augmentation (TARA). It measures the quality of distribution of services of local government units (LGU) based on three standards: Administration and Organization, Program Management, and Institutional Mechanism. Anarna previously joined officials of the city government during their house-to-house distribution of financial aid to senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
