The event, dubbed as 'Basta Bulakenyo, Kahit may "K" OK!,’ is part of the activities lined up for National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation week, and was held at The Pavilion in Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in the City of Malolos, Bulacan on Thursday, July 20.
In line with the celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month, the PDRRMO spearheaded the orientation with the purpose of raising the level of awareness and skills of the vulnerable sector on disaster preparedness and informing them on how to respond and get help when a sudden disaster occurs such as flooding due to typhoon, earthquake, fire incidents, and other hazardous emergencies.

The event was attended by 408 officers and members of City and Municipal PWD Officers, Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines (FSCAR), and Office for the Senior Citizens' Affairs (OSCA) which are partners of PGB in bringing government services to communities. In his message, Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando promoted inclusivity especially among the PWDs and senior population since they are most vulnerable in times of crisis. "Recognizing their unique challenges and actively addressing their needs will not only enhance their ability to cope during emergencies but also promote a more inclusive and compassionate society. By working together, we can build a safer and more resilient community where no one is left behind, regardless of age or ability,” the governor said. Meanwhile, as a treat to the PWDs and senior citizens, Fernando, together with Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro, gave out cash prizes amounting to P500, P1,000, and P2,000 plus two bicycles through a raffle while PSWDO Head Rowena J. Tiongson led the distribution of cash incentives worth P1,000 and a box of goods to all the attendees.
