New look and enhanced drive


The new Honda Brio and City were just launched week, and the two new cars hope to elevate motorists’ daily drive with their sportier looks and many added features. We go over a few of these enhanced to share how they will change your daily travel.

The new City

The new City has a refreshed look, new color choices and a new variant. These are Honda’s way of offering motorists a City that better suits their style.

Road Sailing (RS) edition

The RS variant (which stands for Road Sailing), is easily the most desirable of the new City variants. Up gets exclusive aesthetic treatments for added sporty appeal. These include an RS Design grille with badge, new front and rear bumper with carbon-wrapped lower molding, LED daytime running lights, LED headlights, a side sill garnish, newly designed sporty 16-inch alloy wheels, and power folding door mirrors with integrated side turn signal lights. It’s finished off with a newly designed rear bumper with a sporty carbon-wrapped diffuser. It retains its LED tail lights and LED high-mount stop lamp, and includes a high gloss black-colored trunk spoiler.

Inside, the RS gets full leather seats and sport pedals. Interior accents include the dark red front panel garnish and high gloss black interior accents. Entertainment is care of the new 4.2-inch full color TFT meter with red ambient light instrument cluster. It gets an eight-inch advanced touchscreen display audio entertainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

V for understated style

Want the premium look and features without the flash? There’s still the V variant which gets similar equipment to the RS. It may not have the sporty body kit, but it still gets desirable features like daytime running lamps, halogen projector headlamps, 16-inch allow wheels, and power folding door mirrors with integrated side turn signal lights.

Inside, it comes with a 4.2-inch full color TFT meter with white and green ambient light. It also has the eight-inch advanced touchscreen display audio entertainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Honda SENSING

More concerned with safety? Even if you get the V or S, you can be sure to enjoy advanced driver-assist safety technology which include: Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Auto-High Beam (AHB). In addition, all variants have 4-standard airbags. All variants also get the Headlight Auto On/Off with Auto Off Timer after 15 seconds after engine is turned off.

Make your own

Haven’t found what you’re looking for? New City owners can also purchase the Honda Genuine Accessories for their new City to get that sporty looking without breaking the bank. These include the front accent garnish, LED fog lights, trunk tray, and door visor. Also available are 16x6J alloy wheels, front under spoiler, side under spoiler, trunk spoiler (wing), and rear under spoiler, all developed under Honda’s Modulo brand. Customers have the option to purchase these accessories individually or as a package for additional savings.

Price

The new Honda City variants are priced as follows: 1.5 E CVT with SENSING, P973,000; 1.5 S CVT with SENSING, P998,000; 1.5 V CVT with SENSING P1,073,000; and 1.5 RS CVT with SENSING P1,128,000.

The new Brio

Sporty style and fuel savings can go hand in hand as the new Brio demonstrates. This car is for buyers who want style, comfort, and performance, with exceptional value and long-term reliability.

Road Sailing edition

Like the City, the Brio also has an RS variant. It comes with a newly designed piano black RS Design front grille and new headlights, updated fog lights and new fog light garnish. It also has LED daytime running lights, crystal black door mirrors with power folding and adjustable feature, and RS Design side sill lower garnish. Behind, it has a tailgate spoiler and RS Design rear bumper lower garnish and tail lights. It rolls on 15-inch RS Design alloy wheels. Topping it off quite literally, is the option to have it with a black roof for just an additional P10,000.

Inside, the RS features black fabric seats with red accents, speed-sensing auto door locks and power windows. Entertainment is a seven-inch capacitive touchscreen audio with audio controls along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s routed through a six-speaker audio set up (with tweeters).

There’s no shortage of safety either with driver and front passenger airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD). rear parking sensors are now available for all variants.

Price

The new Brio is priced as follows: 1.2 S MT for P735,000; 1.2 V CVT for P827,000; 1.2 RS CVT for P853,000; and 1.2 RS Black Top CVT for P863,000.
