UNICEF national ambassador Gary V gives pep talk to Pasay students
Singer-song writer Gary Valenciano, ambassador of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Philippines, visited the Pasay City Hall on Thursday, July 20, to raise awareness about the issues and challenges that affect children in the city.
His visit was also meant to mobilize support and advocate for the protection of the rights of the youth.
Valenciano met with Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano as well as City University of Pasay (CUP) students and faculty.
Valenciano’s visit was part of his campaign dubbed “Gary V Face2Face” which encourages the young people to become more productive and aware
of their rights through music.
Rubiano told the CUP students that the singer’s visit was to inspire and also share his knowledge and insights on personality and character development and on identity formation and socio-emotional development of the student body.
"Through his talk he has given us Encouragement, Motivation and Inspiration
(EMI) as we continuously face various challenges every single day,” said Rubiano.
The mayor also thanked Valenciano for sharing stories that gave inspiration to the student attendees.
