Song Hye-kyo bags grand prize; 'Big Bet' wins best drama at 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards

Korean actress Song Hye-kyo emerged as the biggest winner at the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards, which honored works released on streaming platforms from May 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023.  The awards ceremony was held on July 19 at Paradise City and hosted by Jun Hyun-moo and Yoona.  (From left) Grand prize winner Song Hye-kyo, best actress Bae Suzy and best actor Ha Jung-woo (Screenshot from KBS video on YouTube, Instagram)

For her portrayal as Moon Dong-eun in Netflix’s “The Glory,” Song Hye-kyo won the “daesang,” or grand prize, the first time that the award was given this year. 
But Disney+’s “Big Bet” took home the best drama award, beating “The Glory,” “Narco-Saints,” “Bargain” and “Weak Hero Class 1.” Last year, “D.P.,” the Korean drama on Netflix starring Jung Hae-in and  Koo Kyo-hwan, won best drama. 
For the acting awards, Bae Suzy won best actress for Coupang Play’s “Anna” while Ha Jung-woo grabbed the best actor award for Netflix’s “Narco-Saints.”
Lim Ji-yeon, who played the role of Park Yeon-jin in “The Glory,” bagged the best supporting actress award while Lee Dong-hwi, famous for his “Reply 1988” role, won best supporting actor for “Big Bet.”  K-pop idol-actor Park Ji-hoon won best new actor for “Weak Hero Class 1” and Shin Ye-eun of  “Revenge of Others” bagged the best new actress award.  Here are the winners of the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards:
