#MeriendaNiLuc: EU envoy takes a bite of Minasa cookies from Bulacan

European Union Ambassador to the Philippines Luc Veron continues his #MeriendaNiLuc series by sampling beloved Bulacan cookies and sweets. (Photo from EU Amb. Luc Veron via Twitter) In a Twitter post, the envoy shared about receiving Minasa cookies, which is made from arrow root, cassava flour, fresh coconut milk, sugar, and egg. “A small taste of Bulacan! Tried Minasa today for #MeriendaNiLuc. Perfect snack for my daily kape (coffee),” he wrote about the cookies and pastillas he received as gifts. Ambassador Veron also posted about his excitement to try pastillas, a native Filipino candy made of milk and sugar. “Thanks to Gella @g2kaffeeklatsch, an Erasmus alumna, for the great gift! Merienda truly is a community event. Excited to try the Pastillas soon!,” he added. Erasmus is an EU-funded program to promote education, training, youth and sport in Europe. The program offers eligible students a chance to study or do internship abroad for a period of at least two months and a maximum of one year. Previously, the ambassador also shared his appreciation for Choco Mallows and Cream-O biscuits as these were recommended by Senator Sonny Angara. Veron also once shared his love for pichi-pichi, a Filipino dessert made from steamed cassava balls mixed with sugar; and chocnut, a bar of chocolate made with peanuts, sugar, milk powder, cocoa powder, and vanilla.
