San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora lauded all Grade 6, 10, and 12 graduates of the city's public schools on Thursday, July 20, as he announced that all of them will receive incentives from the city government to inspire them to become good leaders of the society. Zamora said that all honor students of the city's public schools will receive cash incentives ranging from P2,000 to P10,000, and all Grade 12 graduates will get P3,000 each. "For next school year, all Kindergarten to Grade 12 students studying in San Juan public schools will receive one pair of red and white rubber shoes which they can use with their current red and white school and PE uniforms. Also, through the support of Congresswoman Bel Zamora, we will be providing P3,000 educational assistance on a per family basis to our public school students," he added. The mayor said that through the city government's efforts, San Juan was able to provide each public school student with their own gadgets to be used in their learning needs. All students received tablets while Grade 3 to 6 students of Pinaglabanan Elementary School were given laptops. The city also installed fiber optic internet connection and Smart TVs in all public school classrooms and fiber optic internet connection in the learners' homes as well. "For public school students living in San Juan and studying in San Juan public schools who still don't have internet in their homes, please coordinate with our Department of Education (DepEd) San Juan Division Office so we can install them," Zamora said. "The education of our children is one of our city government's top priorities because we believe that this will pave the way for a bright future for them," he added.
